Take a look and let us know if you want anything mentioned in future “News from Paso Robles” posts. Read more…

Back Off the Wagon!

My drinking habits have been severely disturbed the past year! Why, you ask? Well, it all started out when I got pregnant last November, miscarried in December, was pregnant again in January, and celebrated the birth of our son, Samuel Liberty 4 weeks ago! Being pregnant completely changed the drinking part of our lifestyle, but that was okay because the result was definitely worth the sacrifice. Read more…

Morro Rock, Morro Bay, CA

Morro Bay: Another Saturday Adventure, #27!

This past Saturday we headed over to Morro Bay to meet a friend for lunch. We got there a bit early and hung out by one of the kayak rental places. It’s kind of fun to just be still and present in the moment like that. We watched the people coming in and out of the bay in their kayaks and the seals and pelicans doing…well…what seals and pelicans do.

A week or so back we decided to go coastal, which is much better than going postal…just sayin’! We decided to adventure over to Cambria and check out the elephant seals. We hadn’t seen them in a year or two and to be honest, we weren’t necessarily missing them, we just get a laugh out of them. Actually, put wine aside for a moment, the greatest thing on the Central Coast is nature…from all the different types of land and sea animals, to the ocean, lakes, and oak tree jungles, it’s absolutely gorgeous here year round! Porter's Food Truck: Paso Robles Wine Fest 2012 Video Edition

A few weeks back we went to the Paso Robles Wine Festival in the lovely downtown park and actually did some videos, which we have been neglecting a little bit recently. So in this video edition we have an interview we did with Duncan of Porter’s Gourmet On The Go food truck. We’ve interviewed him before and we really think he’s killin’ it in the food truck arena on the Central Coast. Since we are a smaller community the food truck revolution is still somewhat new to our area, but we’re enjoying the bejeebus out of it.

It’s great now because we see Porter’s, along with many other food trucks, at all the events now too…so, kudos to them and well done Duncan!

P.S. When you watch the video, don’t mind the delightful generator tunes in the background…the truck next door had his running the whole time!

Harmony Cellars…We Needed a Little Harmony in Our Lives!

Harmony Cellars

Harmony Cellars

After spending an afternoon in Morro Bay chowing down on some loveliness at Rose’s Landing we…oh wait, we should tell you what we ate just to make you hungry. Although I only took a picture of one of our snacks, you can just paint your own picture with the other stuff. The clam chowder that you see pictured was absolutely awesome. I am not a fan of runny, soupy chowder and this was NOT that…sooooo good. We also sampled the grilled oysters, and couldn’t pass up the coconut shrimp! Yeah, we like seafood, especially when we’re staring at the beautiful Pacific Ocean!

So, back to the first sentence of this post…after leaving Rose’s Landing we hopped in the truck and headed north on HWY 1 and decided to make a stop at Harmony Cellars in Harmony, CA.; population 18, or something like that. Read more…

Gratitude; We Have a Lot of it For You!!!

Gratitude , The Tall Ships' Races, Szczecin 2007

Gratitude

Every once in a while you just have to stop and appreciate how fortunate you are…and this is one of those times. We sincerely want to thank all those people that invite us into their worlds to partake and enjoy in the best the Central Coast has to offer. We get to do, see, and experience some of the most awesome things around here, and we need to let people know just how much we appreciate the opportunities they give to us! Read more…

Hoot n’ Annie Visit the Desert: Adventure #11

DesertFlower

Desert Flower

A few weeks back my (Hoot) sister and niece were coming to California from Texas to visit our Grandmother (we call her Nana, so from here forth let it be) that lives in Palm Springs…so, we left our little paradise (Paso Robles) and drove down to the desert for a mini family reunion.

The day we arrived, I (Hoot) actually had a Twitter wine tasting to partake in called #CCwineday, which stood for Central Coast wine day and was covering wines from Monterey to Santa Barbara. I couldn’t miss out on this so we took our Central Coast wines to Nana’s house (my sis and Nana got to help and see a little bit of what I do with Twitter/social media) and I spent my hour or so doing the online wine chat. World of Pinot Noir – The Wines We Had…

World of Pinot Noir 2012

World of Pinot Noir 2012

If you’re one of the cursed that has been bitten by the Pinot Noir bug, then you know that it can be a wonderful burden to carry. Forever on the quest for the next best high; that next sip of delicious Pinot Noir that will send you right back into oblivion for a moment, then leave you wanting more. How many sips of mediocrity does it take before you get to the ones that really give you a “mind change”? That blow you away? That really make you stop and take notice?  Read more…

Cayucos Sea Glass Festival

Friends of ours recently invited us to go along with them to Cayucos where a Sea Glass Festival was going on…Sea Glass Festival? We had no idea one existed but maybe everything should have a festival; just another reason to celebrate right? Read more…
