Paso Robles Wine Festival 2013: We Came, We Saw
Earth Day Food and Wine Festival
I Get a Little Ego in This Wine
I suppose it’s true in every industry but one thing I’ve noticed in the wine industry is that there are a ton of super amazing, down to Earth people who would gladly give you the shirt off their back…BUT…I’ve also noticed there are a ton of people that think quite highly of themselves and would sooner spit their wine on you than converse with you. Wine Tasting At Venteux Vineyards
We recently made our way over to Venteux Vineyards in Templeton, just south of Paso Robles, to do some tasting. This is another one of those spots that we haven’t been to for some time so we’ve been trying to fix that. Read more…
News from Paso Robles: Zin Fest Weekend
Don’t know what to do this weekend?? Well, if you’re in or around Paso Robles it’s time to get your Zin on. Starting today and going through Sunday, most wineries are having some form of event at their place. It may be live music and food or it may be the anti-Zin party…who knows. Bottom line is that there are tons of parties happening this weekend so I suggest you get your butt out there and shake it like there’s no tomorrow. All you have to do is check with the wineries you’re interested in to find out what they’re up to. Read more…
Paso Robles Wine: Pear Valley Vineyards
I wish I had remembered to do a video while we were at Pear Valley Vineyards because it is amazingly beautiful out there but you’re going to have to rely on my words and the handful of photos you’ll find below. This is a great spot on the east side of Paso Robles on Union Road. The way the property is laid out you find yourself driving up this long driveway that’s absolutely surrounded by grape vines and rolling hills…amazing! Read more…
Road Trip: Monterey, California
A couple of weeks back I had some work to take care of in the Monterey area so Annie and I decided to make it our first road trip with Sammy to test him (but mostly test us) on how he would do on a 2 hour and 15 minute drive as well as two nights away from home in a hotel. It was also our last little trip prior to Annie going back to work full time. Read more…
Paso Robles Wine Business and WiVi
I saw this article this morning titled “Central Coast Wine Business is Strong and Growing” and it made me smile…I’m glad business is strong. Although, depending on who you speak with, that opinion may differ.
It was also a reminder that WiVi (Wine & Viticulture) Central Coast is coming up (March 19-20) at the Paso Robles Event Center, a new symposium and tradeshow that you really should check out if you’re at all into the wine thing…which I’m assuming you are if you’re reading our blog. Here’s a link to the WiVi website with more info. Read more…
News from Paso Robles: WOPN, Firestone Walker Brewery, and More
As you’ve seen in the past month or so we have started doing some blog posts on news, events, and updates from Paso Robles. There is always so much going on, especially now as we head closer to Spring. Below you will find some links to things that were either forwarded to us or that we found to be interesting. Take a look and let us know if you want anything mentioned in future “News from Paso Robles” posts. Read more…
Winter in Wine Country
Winter in Paso Robles seems to be the time Annie and I spend catching our breath. It’s that time of year where things really seem to slow down here in Paso Robles…wineries aren’t as busy, some restaurants have shorter hours, some places even close for the winter, and the number of wine events drop significantly. As someone that is self-diagnosed as A.D.D. and Lord only knows what else…I get antsy. Read more…
