Need I say more? BACON. WINE. What else does one need out of life? Cheese, you say? Well, yeah, they had that too!
We’re talking about Hope Family Wines…just off the 46 West in Paso Robles. They celebrated Harvest Festival by pairing assorted bacons (is that a word?) with their award winning wines. See, it’s Harvest time in Wine Wonderland and with the strange weather we’ve had this year, the actual harvesting has been delayed a few weeks, so the hustle and bustle is still in full swing. The Harvest celebration is meant to reward all the hard work that is making wine with some good partying! That’s what makes the Harvest Festival activities that much more impressive…like pairing BACON and WINE could get any more impressive, right?
Ummm…there was Bourbon Bacon, there was Smoked Whole Ham Hock, there were Cinnamon Rolls with BACON on top…and among the sea of more pork products, there was WINE.
Okay already, here’s the lowdown:

I believe Kelly from Hunter Ranch supplied her secret recipe bacon. I served some on my flatbreads at Edward Sellers Friday afternoon. People ate like pigs! ha ha.
